Transfer airport – Camino: Transfer from Santiago de Compostela Airport to Tui on the day of arrival, from Santiago to the surf camp in Nemiña and from Nemiña to Fisterra on the day of departure. We specify a window of possible time of arrival at one of the main airports for the Camino. You travel independently until this time, and we organize the transfer to the Camino. Transfer from last night’s accommodation in Nemiña to Fisterra, all further transfers must be arranged independently by the participants.

Half board and full board: Meals generally start with dinner on the day of arrival and end with breakfast on the day of departure. Half board applies to the first part of the trip between Tui and Santiago. After that, full board begins for the duration of the surf course.

Tour guide: No assistance provided by the tour guide on rest days and free days. The tour guide does not walk with pilgrims on the Camino on walking days, but organizes luggage transfers and remains available with the assistance vehicle in case of emergencies. In Nemiña, Tipiti Surf takes care of the organization and supervision.

 Flights: We do not book flights, nor organize any rail or commercial bus-line travel. However, if you need assistance in deciding how to get to and back from your Camino Tour, we will be happy to assist you with tips and ideas!

Travel insurance: We strongly recommend to all our travellers to get a Travel Insurance; however, we do not sell any such policies. For our international clients, it is best to get a policy in their country of residence, as some countries offer insurances only to their own residents.

After this inspiring pilgrimage, a joint surf adven­ture awaits you at the Nemiña surf camp. It is lo­cated between Finisterre and Muxía, close to the Way of Saint James.

With full board, professional surf lessons in Eng­lish and excursions in the area, the surf camp not only offers a surf adventure, but also a unique learning experience. Enjoy educational talks about surfing and the environment, relax with barbecue nights or yoga, and experience exciting beach activities. The accommodation offers spa­cious double/triple rooms and is only 600 me­ters/656 yards away from the beach.

itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Porto – Tui

Flight to Portugal and transfer from Porto Airport to the Camino in Tui. After moving into our rooms, there will be a moment to get to know each other, and prepare mind and body for the Camino.

Day 1: Arrival in Porto – Tui

Flight to Spain, ride from Porto Airport to the Way of Saint James in Tui (approximately 100 km/62 mi). Proceed to your room, get to know each other, and prepare mind and body for the Camino.

Day 2: Tui – Redondela

Today, as on every pilgrimage day, we offer a spiritual start. The route follows small roads and paths to Redondela, where the Atlantic Ocean can be seen for the first time. The Way of Saint James continues to Redondela/Arcade to today’s accommodation. (31 km/19 mi – Moderate)

(Attention: When crossing the border into Spain, there is a time zone change)

Day 3: Redondela – Pontevedra

The Way of Saint James leads through many forests to the “capital” of the Caminho Português in Galicia: Pontevedra. On this day, you have enough time to visit the nice old town and the cathedral. (19.9 km/13.9 km | 12.4 mi/8.6 mi – Easy)

Day 4: Pontevedra – Caldas de Reis

On this day, the Camino leads through beautiful landscapes and past many wayside crosses to Caldas de Reis, famous for its healing thermal springs.
(22.9 km/14.2 mi – Easy, with a small mountain)

Day 5: Caldas de Reis - Padrón

The route takes you over the fertile hills of Galicia to Padrón, where legend has it that the ship carrying the body of James the Apostle docked. In addition to historic buildings, you can also enjoy the famous “pimientos de Padrón”: small, green, and roasted peppers. (18.3 km/11.4 mi – Easy)

Day 6: Padrón – Santiago de Compostela

You continue past old churches and cemeteries on the way to Santiago de Compostela. (23 km/14 mi – Moderate). Receive the pilgrim’s certificate, Compostela, at the pilgrim’s office. Farewell to the Way of Saint James.

Day 7: Santiago de Compostela - Nemiña (transfer)

Today, there is a pilgrim’s mass in the cathedral at 12 PM. In the late afternoon, you will continue to Nemiña in the transport vehicle. Your tour guide will say goodbye to you here. From here, your Camino continues on the water in the company of Cris and Patri at the Tipiti surf camp in Nemiña near Lires.

Day 8 to 12: Surf lessons in Nemiña

Second part of the trip: Stay at the surf camp. Cris and Patri will explain all the details to you on site.

Day 13: Journey Home

Transfer to Fisterra from where you will travel to Santiago de Compostela by public transport on your own, as well as the return flight home. As an alternative, you can extend your stay in Fisterra, Santiago de Compostela, or Porto.
