You will reach Santiago de Compostela on June 23, just in time for Saint John’s Eve, a traditional holiday held with bonfires and joyful celebrations in the city. You’re cordially invited to take part in the cheering and celebrate this traditional festivity with us in Santiago.

The pilgrimage on foot may come to an end here, but our adventure continues. Together as a group, we head to Nemiña the next day: here, you immerse yourself in the waves of the Galician coast. Nemiña is a hidden gem between Finisterre and Muxía along the Way of Saint James. Patri and Cris will be waiting for you here for an authentic surf experience.

Discover how pilgrimage and surfing share similar spiritual traits. Both require mindfulness, devotion, and finding harmony with nature and yourself. Discover the sublime connection of land and sea, experience the powerful connection with the universe.

With full board, professional surf lessons in English, and excursions in the surrounding area, the surf camp not only offers a surf adventure, but also a unique learning experience. Impressions from the Camino

itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Santiago de Compostela – Sarria

Flight to Spain and transfer from Santiago de Compostela Airport to the Camino in Sarria. After moving into our rooms, there will be a moment to get to know each other, and prepare mind and body for the Camino.

Day 1: Arrival in Santiago de Compostela – Sarria

Flight to Spain, ride from Santiago de Compostela Airport to the Way of Saint James in Sarria (approximately 100 km/62 mi). Proceed to your room, get to know each other, and prepare mind and body for the Camino.

Day 2: Sarria – Portomarín

Today, as on every pilgrimage day, we offer a spiritual start.
The route leads to Portomarín via many narrow paths. The village had to make way for a reservoir in the 1960s and has been rebuilt in parts on the hill, stone by stone. When the water level is low, the remains of the old Portomarín can be seen in the valley.
(23.1 km/14.4 mi – Easy, with a descend at the end)

Day 3: Portomarín – Palas de Rei

The Way of Saint James leads pilgrims through many forests to Hospital de Cruz and continues over the beautiful Sierra de Ligonde to Palas de Rei.
(23.9 km/14.9 mi – Moderate)

Day 4: Palas de Rei – Mélide – Arzúa

We hike through Melide, with its famous pulperías (general store, dining facility), and continue through many small villages to Arzúa.
(28 km/17.4 mi – Moderate, slightly longer stage)

Day 5: Arzúa - Pedrouzo

Hike to Pedrouzo. The route continues through eucalyptus forests toward the destination of all pilgrimage routes.
(19.5 km/12.1 mi – Easy)

Day 6: Pedrouzo – Monte do Gozo – Santiago de Compostela

After a few villages, the eucalyptus forest gives way to conifers and you walk alongside Santiago de Compostela Airport. You walk to the summit of Monte do Gozo, the mountain of joy, and you will see Santiago de Compostela for the first time. From here, it is just 4.8 kilometers/3.0 miles until you reach the long-awaited pilgrimage destination of Santiago de Compostela. You arrive in Santiago for the Fiesta de San Juan (Saint John’s Eve), when bonfires burn throughout the city and invite us to celebrate the summer solstice.
(19.9/12.4 mi – Easy)

Day 7: Santiago de Compostela - Nemiña (transfer)

Today, there is a pilgrim’s mass in the cathedral at 12 PM. In the late afternoon, you will continue to Nemiña in the transport vehicle. Your tour guide will say goodbye to you here. From here, your Camino continues on the water in the company of Cris and Patri at the Tipiti surf camp in Nemiña near Lires.

Day 8 to 12: Surf lessons in Nemiña

Second part of the trip: Stay at the surf camp. Cris and Patri will explain all the details to you on site.

Day 13: Journey Home

Transfer to Fisterra from where you will travel to Santiago de Compostela by public transport on your own, as well as the return flight home. As an alternative, you can extend your stay in Fisterra, Santiago de Compostela, or Porto.
