This last section of the Camino Primitivo begins in Lugo, where the unique 2 km-long Romanesque city wall embraces the old town. Before you leave, you should enjoy the good cuisine of Lugo. Well fed, you will now depart for the comparably easy but slightly longer stages of the Camino Primitivo.

First the Camino takes you up and down through woods and on old Romanesque roads in relative solitude. From Melide on, the route joins the Camino Francés. With a larger community of pilgrims, the last three daily stages will take you towards Santiago Compostela, where you can pick up your pilgrim's certificate (Compostela) and visit the pilgrim mass in the famous cathedral.
