Our journey starts in Nájera, where we can visit its famous monastery. From there, the Camino leads us over hilly terrain towards Santo Domingo de la Calzada, named after Dominic de la Calzada who is said to have performed numerous miracles here.
Entering the province of Burgos, we ascend the Montes de Oca (Mount of Goose) to reach the beautiful city of Burgos. This will be the perfect place for a well-deserved rest day and a visit to the magnificent Gothic cathedral of Burgos.
We finally enter the Meseta, a plateau known for its stark scenery, offering views into open landscapes of intense colours. This barren and empty land is deeply fascinating to many, but can also be monotonous and hot. The Meseta leaves much space to experience oneself and is a special stretch of the Camino, indeed. This tour ends in Caldzadilla de la Cueza.
Every morning, we offer a spiritual start into the day. Usually, this means that a short, interesting, and hopefully inspiring text will be read. This part is open for anybody who would like to participate.
